🚧 Phase 1 Complete – Parking Lot Upgrades Underway Across SCSD! 🚧
We’re proud to announce the completion of Phase 1 of our district-wide parking lot infrastructure improvement plan! 🏗️
At Jimmy Brown Elementary, the original parking lot has been fully renovated with key updates:
✅ Expanded parking capacity
✅ A relocated student crosswalk for improved safety
🚸 New Crosswalk Design
The crosswalk now runs through the center of the parking lot, beginning between the two entrances. This change provides a safer, more efficient path for students during drop-off and pick-up times.
👨👩👧👦 How Families Can Help
Your partnership is essential in making these upgrades successful. Please:
-Follow updated drop-off and pick-up procedures
-Use the correct entrance for your route
-Stay alert and respectful of traffic flow guidelines
📍 What’s Next?
This is just the beginning!
-Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the improvement plan are scheduled for next summer and will focus on upgrades at the High School campus.
-These phases will continue our commitment to student safety, traffic efficiency, and a better experience for our entire school community.
Thank you for your continued support as we invest in the future of Star City Schools! #BeTheBest

🌟 Did you know?
This summer, SCSD’s Summer Feeding Program served 29,664 meals to families in our community! 🥪🍎
What a blessing to support our students while school was out. Thank you to all who made it happen! 💙✨

📚🚗 Star City Schools Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures 🚗📚
As we gear up for another fantastic school year, please review the drop-off and pick-up routes for each campus. Following these routes helps ensure student safety and keeps traffic flowing efficiently. Here's what families need to know:
🔵 Star City High School (Grades 9–12)
Use E. Arkansas St to access the high school—whether you're coming from HWY 425 (the red light) or from the east side of town. Follow the blue route directly into the high school loop.
Please pull all the way forward to drop students off at the east end of the building, and do the same when arriving for pickup.
🟡 Star City Middle School (Grades 6–8) – MORNING
For morning drop-off, all students in grades 6–8 will enter E Bradley St from HWY 425 or E. Arkansas St, then turn onto Cleveland St and follow the yellow route.
🟠 Star City Middle School (Grades 7–8) – AFTERNOON
7th & 8th grade students will be picked up in front of the middle school building via the orange route off E. Bradley St (PM only).
6th grade students will be picked up along Cleveland St using the yellow route, following the same pattern as the morning drop-off.
🔴 Jimmy Brown Elementary (Grades 3–5)
Use Ashley St from E Arkansas St, then follow the red route to the designated 3rd–5th grade loop in front of the JBE building.
This route is only for 3rd–5th grade pickup/drop-off—please do not enter unless you’re picking up or dropping off a student in this grade band.
If you have students in both K–2 and 3–5, please use this lane. Staff will ensure your children get to the correct area safely.
🟢 Jimmy Brown Elementary (Grades K–2)
Enter via Dallas St from HWY 425, then follow the green route into the K–2 loop.
This route is only for K–2nd grade pickup/drop-off.
This is the safest and most direct route for our youngest students.
📌 Reminders for All Drivers:
Please be patient—especially during the first few weeks.
Staff will assist with directions and student transitions.
Avoid blocking intersections, side roads, and driveways.
Always follow signage and staff instructions.
Drive slow and use caution at crosswalks.
Let’s work together to keep our students safe and our campuses running smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation! 💙
