Many of you have seen the Bright Futures Star City Program on social media, but for those who are still unsure of what it is we wanted to explain what they will be doing below:
Lincoln County is filled with amazing businesses and individuals who help meet the needs of students regularly. Bright Futures Star City will simply give structure to help meet the needs in a more timely manner.
1. Create communication and resource structures to meet any child's basic needs within 24 hours.
2. Build community leadership capacity to improve problem solving capabilities to address the greater challenges faced by Lincoln County youth.
3. Provide service-learning opportunities to provide students and teachers curriculum-based, hands-on service experiences to grow generations of service-minded citizens.
To help, you can follow (Bright Futures Star City) on facebook where request will be posted as soon as they receive them. They also take donations and can be contacted through their facebook or by calling Star City High School and talking to Mrs. Lindsay Henry.
Our current needs are:
1. Leggings for females of all ages, but specifically high school sizes.
2. Deodorant/antiperspirant for males and females.
3. Underwear/panties for students of all ages.
4. Socks/Shoes of all sizes
Please only donate new or “gently used” clothing or shoes. Thank you! #WhateverItTakes
