January is School Board Appreciation Month in Arkansas. Our elected school board members give our Star City citizens a voice in education decision making. While we make a special effort to show our appreciation this month, their contribution is a year-round commitment.

Due to the expected timing of winter weather, Star City School District will dismiss students at 1:15pm on Thursday. A decision regarding school closure on Friday will be made by Thursday evening. Basketball games for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday have been cancelled due to the winter weather. Pee Wee practices have also been cancelled until further notice. #Bethebest

Jr. girls picked up a road victory over Hamburg 37-21. The Jr. boys fell in a tough game to a talented Hamburg squad 43-33. Both teams will be back in action tomorrow evening at Stuttgart. #bethebest
