Star City School District Students Place in Youth Art Month Contest

Four Star City School District students have placed in the Arkansas Art Educators Youth Art Month Flag Design Contest.

Star City High School junior Alexia Lams won first place and junior Autumn Jackson won third place in the high school division. Both students are under the instruction of Roger Darren High.

Jimmy Brown Elementary School fifth grader Melissa Cochrane won second place Place and fifth grader Blaiden White won fourth place in the elementary school division. Both students are under the instruction of Suzi Davis.

The artwork created by these students as well as other state winners will be on display until March 30 at the Old State House in Little Rock as part of a celebration of Youth Art Month, a national celebration of art education that is observed in March. An awards reception will be held on March 30 at the Old State House at 1:30 pm.
