Star City Middle and Star City High have been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school where students demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire!  The OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards, and recognizes schools with high student growth. We think growth is the best indicator of the positive impact that our schools are having on the students.

In the Middle Level report, Star City Middle received the following awards:

High Overall Growth: Middle Level (Southeast Region)

High Math Growth: Middle Level (Southeast Region)

High ELA Growth: Middle Level (Southeast Region)

In the High School Level report, Star City High School received the following awards:

High Overall Growth: High School Level (Southeast Region)

High ELA Growth: High School Level (Southeast Region)

OEP provides specific content-area badges for placement on our school’s website, and a personalized paper award will be sent to the district later this summer. Awards are based on the 2017 content growth score calculated by the Arkansas Department of Education.
